  1. Maximizing the performance of new hires (2 CPE Hours in Personal Development – Non-Technical)
    1. As a professor at one of the strongest accounting programs in the state, I have developed a lot of insight as to organization cultures and practices which encourage new hires to thrive. After completing this session, participants will be able to identify cultures that are appealing to new hires, lead new hires in a way that will maximize their performance, and encourage new hires to stay with an organization
  2. Networking 101 (2 CPE Hours in Personal Development – Non-Technical)
    1. Many CPAs are introverts and shy away from the idea of networking, and they are missing out on many opportunities. After completing this session, participants will be able to identify what networking is and why it is important, articulate how to effectively network at events and in meetings, and generate ideas on how to network in their day to day lives
  3. Effective business writing for CPAs (2 CPE Hours in Specialized Knowledge – Technical)
    1. Within seconds, your reader will generate an impression of your writing and decide whether to continue reading. After completing this session, participants will be able to identify how to organize written work, write more clearly and concisely, and write with proper tone
  4. Underused excel tricks and techniques for CPAs (2 CPE Hours in Specialized Knowledge – Technical)
    1. It seems that CPAs can never know enough Excel tricks to increase efficiency. After completing this session, participants will be able to identify how to identify and apply underutilized MS Excel shortcuts, formulas, tools, and techniques
  5. Personal branding through LinkedIn (2 CPE Hours in Personal Development – Non-Technical)
    1. Some CPAs love use LinkedIn, others are more tentative. Regardless of your preference, effectively using LinkedIn can improve your personal brand. After completing this session, participants will be able to identify how to structure their LinkedIn profile, engage with others, and create authentic posts that resonate with others.
  6. Cash flow forecasting (2 CPE Hours in Accounting – Technical)
    1. Forecasting is critical in any organization, yet many CPAs struggle with how to properly forecast cash flows. After completing this session, participants will be able to prepare a forecast in MS Excel, utilize key input cells, and leverage from income statement and balance sheet forecasts.
  7. Delivering engaging presentations (2 CPE Hours in Personal Development – Non-Technical)
    1. Whether you are presenting to a client, to your internal team, or delivering a keynote speech, the key to success is engaging your audience. After completing this session, participants will be able to identify how to create engagement and incorporate PowerPoint animations and other tricks in presentations
  8. Evaluating financial statements (2 CPE Hours in Accounting – Technical)
    1. When you pick up a set of financial statements, how do you assess the organization’s performance? Where do you look first? After completing this session, participants will be able to discuss key financial ratios to use in analysis and identify how investors and creditors evaluate performance
  9. Becoming a leader others want to follow (2 CPE Hours in Personal Development – Non-Technical)
    1. Whether you oversee 1 person or 1,000 people, the way in which you lead will dictate whether others wish to follow you. After completing this session, participants will be able to articulate key qualities of leadership and identify traits possessed by effective and ineffective leaders.
